The marathon takes place in the backdrop of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Southwestern Uganda in Kanungu District on every 24 September or the next Saturday that follows the World Gorilla Day. From the misty mountains and lush rainforests in Uganda (Pearl of Africa) to the bustling cities across the world, marathoners, adventurists and conservation enthusiasts from around the world, lace up their shoes with a shared purpose of safeguarding the future of endangered gorillas.
